Jericho is a drama about what happens in the aftermath of a nuclear explosion in the once peaceful town of Jericho. Following the battle with New Bern, the citizens of Jericho begin reconstruction efforts to restore the town's power and communication with the outside world. As the country's new leaders, the Cheyenne government, attempt to establish their stronghold in the region, Jericho's citizens become suspicious of their new leaders and question why their community is so important to this newly formed government. A small town in Kansas is literally left in the dark after seeing a mushroom cloud over near-by Denver, Colorado. The townspeople struggle to find answers about the blast and solutions on how to survive. Jericho is one of the best shows on television! It is well-acted, well-written, high-quality, and thought-provoking. It's one of those shows that you can watch comfortably with your family - no nudity, no bad language - and it will inspire serious conversation, probably about the "what ifs" that this show is all about. How would you react? What would you do? Would you run and hide, or would you stand up and be counted, fight for that in which you believe? It's a great show, and I implore anyone who has not already seen it to give it a chance - you will be hooked as quickly as the millions of other fans the show has generated! I really found this show refreshing. Its not the greatest show ever but it was entertaining. The show gives the feel of Saturday morning serials (fast paced and leaving you with a cliff-hanger). I loved the underlying messages to our current governmental situation. I just learned that it was not to be picked up again. I can't believe CBS is cancelling the show after the response they received after it was cancelled the first time. I hope that some other network (ie. SciFi) will try to carry on the series (sort of like Battlestar Galactica) to a complete and thorough conclusion even if it doesn't fit the usual format of a least five years.
